Read this somewhere.. Lame, but some of it really make sense..

One:
An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"

The eagle answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.

All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Mgt Lesson:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high.

Two:
A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey. "But I haven't got the energy."

"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull."They're packed with nutrients."

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eatings ome more dung, he reached the 2nd branch.

Finally after a 4th night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree. A farmer, who promptly spotted him, shot him out of the tree.

Mgt Lesson:
Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Three:
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, promptly dug him out and ate him.

Mgt Lesson:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut.

Interesting.

Happy Halloween!

Whilst I used to comment on cobwebs forming on ppl's blogs.. mine's slowly attracting spiders & generating cobwebs as well.. (nope nope this is not part of the halloween stunt) Well, not that there's nothing going on in my life right now, it's just the plain laziness that's creeping up on me of late. Time seems to whisk pass quickly these days. Work, bathe, cook, eat, wash, TV, maybe read.... time check: 11pm -_-" And plus the fact that the sun sets like at 5 now, the sky's pitch dark at 6pm, my body thinks it's 9pm, I just feel tired.

Oh yes, daylight-saving has been turned off on Sunday, so we are now 13 hours behind SG. They should seriously have shifted more hours back so the sun doesn't come out so early and set so early. It feels really odd when 6pm looks like 9pm, telling my body it's time to go to bed soon.

Okay so what happened over the week? Last Friday Lonza had a Halloween party for the kids. All the little goblins came in all their favorite cartoon/movie characters with a little bucket for their trick or treat candies hunt. They were soooo adorable!! A pity we don't get to do that as a kid in SG. Beverly was commenting that we should bring the halloween party tradition over to the SG plant next time, where we'll be able to bring our own kids to catch a bit of the halloween spirit. Sounds quite good eh? Anyway there was also a competition for the best decorated desk/cubicle/bullpen (whatever). And man, the guys here really take it seriously! Even my dear Miss A who looks so serious everyday brought little props to decorate our desk area. Took some pics using Ben's hp..

On a sadder note, M & I witnessed a guy collapsing in the cafeteria due to an heart attack. Was quite scary cos everyone was like frantic and the guy was unconscious with no heartbeat. What's worse was we could see his face turning purple, and yet do nothing about it. Unfortunately he passed on in the hospital yday night. Must have been traumatic on the people (who were quite close to him) who went to his aid then. I hope nothing like this will ever happen to anyone close to me, I wouldn't know what to do..

**********************************

Then came Sunday, the guy's friends came down from MIT Boston to visit. Brought them for a hike up Mt Major. Was darn cold, and stupid me forgot to bring along my winter cap and gloves. The winds at the peak was freaking strong and cold. Really felt myself almost blown away from the mountain top. Quite an experience though!

And today is Halloween! Nothing special gg on in our area though.. it's quiet.. Dun even have kids knocking at our doors for candies. Which in a way is good, cos we can have the chocs all for ourselves. Ha. Wanted to dress up and go trick or treating with Peixuan (well since everyone says we can easily pass off as lil' kids..), but in the end we din manage to get any costumes, so....

My sis's 21st Bdae's coming... I feel bad I can't be around to celebrate with her.

An apple a day....
Saturday, October 14, 2006

Went apple picking today at Applecrest Farm. Was a bright & cool... Great great weather. Been hearing about this activity from the others and colleagues for th past week, so thought of checking it out. Think my mum would have loved it. Being able to pick the apples fresh from the trees and eating them right on the spot.

Somehow or rather, don't feel like writing/talking too much lately. Shall try to step out of this soon.

I guess I'm just not a very expressive person when it comes to emotional things. Fearing the more I say the more wrong perceptions ppl may formulate within/amongst them, I usually choose not to say too much.

Sometimes not retaliating doesn't mean I don't mind.

Because I'm only human.
